The Lonely Castle

Al Ula, Saudi Arabia

Qasr al-Farid, meaning 'The Lonely Castle,' is a 2,000-year-old Nabataean tomb carved from a single sandstone boulder in the desert of Hegra. It was never finished: the craftsmen worked from the top down, and the bottom half remains rough-hewn.
